Coquille River Lighthouse

Built in 1896, this was the last lighthouse Oregon's government ever commissioned — an unusual elongated, octagonal tower guarding the mouth of the Coquille River. It went dark in 1939 when an automated light took over, then was restored decades later and now anchors Bullards Beach State Park.

Bandon Beach

A wide sand beach on the southern Oregon coast scattered with sea stacks left behind as ancient headlands eroded away. Its best-known formation, Face Rock, rises about 70 feet and is said in Native American legend to be the face of Ewauna, daughter of Chief Siskiyou, turned to stone.
