Alki Point Light

A lighthouse at Alki Point in West Seattle whose current three-story octagonal concrete tower was built in 1912-13, replacing a lantern early settler Hans Hanson reportedly hung from his barn in the 1870s to guide boats. The Coast Guard has operated the station since 1939, and one of its former keeper's dwellings now houses the commander of the Thirteenth Coast Guard District.
